I ran across this site looking for info. about Haag Drug. I was wondering what happened to them & why they went out of business. The stories on here were so interesting. I never moved to Indy until 1968 (moved away 1979) so I don't have some of those memories. I lived on Northgate (Glendale area). I worked in Broad Ripple at a beauty salon called Au'Parasol--I believe it was on Carrollton. I remember Vogue Theatre, the dimestore, Roselyn Bakery, A & P, Karma Records (still there?), & Rene's (THEE best brownies I ever had!), & another restaurant--going east--that had the best chef salads & cherry cokes--anyone remember the name?--(on the north side of the street) & the Whistle Stop. I worked at the Haag Drug also on the corner of Broad Ripple & Keystone. It was connected to The Huddle which was a hangout. I went to Broad Ripple Village last March. I hadn't seen it since 1979--what a change!
It still seems to be a cool place to be. Does anyone know what happened to Haag Drug?
