I guess I should submit my own memories to my own website!

The Late Sixties

Ed Schock's Toy & Hobby was the best. The wrapping paper and curly ribbons behind the counter. The yellow and blue bags. Up the stairs to the car models, balsa wood and chemistry supplies. All the way in the back was the HO slot car track. I brought my cars and accessories in a metal cash box. Put on the slicks, a weighted pan, a custom body, racing oil and it is ready to race.

It seems like the model planes were in the small room to the left. Then to the south side of the store. I remember stuffed animals and girl toys there.

I remember having to bring a note from home to be able to buy Testor's model glue.

It seems like yesterday. Maybe it was (I still have my models and even my HO cars in the cash box).

-Alan
