I grew up at 1907 E. 65th street and went to White River Elementary School. Moved to Arizona in 1964 but miss Indy very much. My grandmother lived at 1515 Broad Ripple Ave. and I played on the train in the park for years. I think they have moved the train out of the park by now. I would so enjoy seeing my old house on 65th street in a current photo if anyone would take one and email it to me. Also, does White River Elementary school exist anymore? I was there when Glendale opened, when Hook and Haag drug stores were there, the Fisk tire child had the candle going, and Ted's barber shop was the first to cut my hair, (long gone...my hair that is) by now. Would love to see or hear what has happened to the park as well as the White River. I do remember MAC's bicycle shop there too just when they put a concrete parking lot across part of the river. I saw that Dog n' Suds still exist in nothern Indiana and that Steak n Shake are doing well. What happened to Lindners Ice Cream and the Ripple Inn bar?
Sorry to ramble on. Have a great day.
Craig Summers
